This year has been rough financially and in other ways for many people. This year you must be more prepared for the unknown than ever before. Make sure your holiday shopping fits into your household budget. Today, I think it might be a good time to revisit a very well know short story, “The Gift of the Magi.” It was published in 1905. Henry wrote this story about a low-income couple approaching the Christmas season. It illustrates the true meaning of Christmas.

The speaker is someone who has been away from home for a long time and has just returned. It’s likely that Lenrie Peters was channeling his own experience when he wrote this piece. The speaker knows that he can’t change the world that he’s returned to. The life he knew is over, and the paths he walked had fallen into disarray. The fifth stanza concludes the speaker’s description of his changed home.

“Have come” is used to say that we decided to “come” and see them previously, and we’re now with them in the present. Do you see how confusing that sentence is? That’s what happens when you combine the present perfect and past tenses in this way. It’s not possible and is always going to be grammatically incorrect. Making sure we understand the differences with tense is important.
Welcome to the discussion.
“Have come” should be used when you want to write using the present perfect tense (i.e., “I have come to the realization that I’m wrong”). “Came” should be used when you want to write using the past tense (i.e., “I came to see you yesterday”). It was depressed due to the burden of our combined weights.

We giggled and talked, about everything and nothing save for our secret on the depressed mattress. “Your parents are not going to like it. They are probably going to freak out.” We burst into peals of laughter, punctuated by a sudden glance at my watch.
Family, acceptance, loss and bonding Family acceptance is key in the story 'Trapped' as a young woman finds herself pregnant for the heir to a Royal throne. In the cover story 'We have come Home', a young lady finds herself on a visit to Nigeria. In 'Seasons', a story about loss unfolds. Eavesdropping on others has never sounded as hilarious as in 'A Sneak Peek'. In 'Shadow's Strength', a new mother cares for a deaf toddler. A young African student finds herself in a new environment in 'No more Laughter' and has to defend herself.
Ikenna let the straw slide out of his mouth, at its unconsciously slow pace. He released a deep breath as though resurfacing from underwater. Soon…” I probably sounded as though trying to convince myself. “Thank you.” I said, wrapping my naked self.
I advanced towards the window, looking out into the yard. I wished I were a tree, like the Neem tree standing majestically in the yard. It swayed gently in the hot afternoon breeze. The tree commanded respect without needing to speak, but then, maybe not.

‘Home is so Sad’ by Philip Larkin – a thoughtful poem about the importance of home. The poet explores what happens to a home when people leave it. ‘Homecoming’ by Simon Armitage – describes thenarratorreturning home after getting their jacket dirty during a late-night foray to the phone box.
